Expect to See More of Us

Look for Always a Bridesmaid to be apart of the Houston Wedding Showcase Saturday February 27, 2010. Also please stop by and visit us at our new location 2646 S. Loop West Suite 625 Houston, TX 77054. Recently engaged and confused? Here are a few tips to remember when planning a wedding.

  • A wedding planner is essential! Who wants to keep up with budgets, payment due dates, color schemes, scamming vendors, hidden fees and all the other possible chaos of planning a wedding and still maintain work, school, volunteering or anything else you may be obligated to.
  • Planning a wedding on a small budget is possible by making some simple changes. Having your ceremony and reception at the same venue cuts back on limo fees. Faux flowers or alternative centerpieces can save thousands! A new trend is a sunday afternoon wedding. Some venues price sunday evening use at thousands less than saturday evenings.
  • A wedding can be planned in less than six months BY A PROFESSIONAL. There's no need to change your wedding date to accommodate for a lack of time. Contact wedding planners and see if they can get your ideal wedding planned in six months.
  • Any color can be a part of your wedding, but not all colors. Choose one basic color, pattern or style and use base colors to accent it. Your wedding can have your own personality and style, but as trends and times change, one can learn that one main color proves to remain classic.

If you have any questions, even if you are planning your own wedding feel free to contact someone at our office at 713.664.4991 or email us at info@alwaysabridesmaidhouston.com

COLOR THEMES!!!!!!!

I've done so many weddings this month and would love to upload the pictures; however, my laptop is running extremely slow. Instead I am going to tell every bride how to devise a color scheme.
Most brides make the mistake of selecting their two favorite colors as the colors for their wedding. The problem with that is, even as a child green and orange didn't match so your wedding day won't be any different. Instead I tell brides to pick ONE favorite color and mature it. If you love orange, let your color be a burnt or sunkissed orange with shade of beige and chocolate. If you love black (which many brides incorporate into their wedding) don't do black and white. Use charcoal, grey and one other color such as maroon to give your wedding distinction.

Now there are many planners that say certain colors are faux pas, I believe any color can be used if used in the proper way. Be careful with green, black/white (without another bold color. I usually suggest substituting beige for white), hot pink, loud orange and lime anything. Citrus colors can be toned down with dark neutral colors. I'll post a few examples.

So I've been away from my blog for quite some time, but with this busy wedding season, I'm back with plenty of new information. I will post information about weddings that I plan periodically to get an idea of what Always a Bridesmaid can offer. This first wedding took place May 2, 2009. A simple backyard became the dream setting for this bride. Calla lillies and perfect landscaping made this 225 person wedding a dream.

A happy bride and groom is always my goal. I believe I have pleased my couples beyond expectation. I'm redoing my website again to add a bit of flash and make it more user friendly. It should be complete the first week of June 2009. Here's a look at my happy May 2 couple. Happy engagements!!
